South Atlantic Modern Language Association Undergraduate Student Essay Award
- Open to presenters at the SAMLA Undergraduate Research Forum from the previous year's conference.
- Deadline: Mid-July
- Currently, the Award is an honorarium of $125, publication of the essay on the SAMLA website, and a biographical profile in SAMLA News.
Conferences
National Undergraduate Literature Conference (NULC)
- Ordinary deadline: January. The conference takes place in March at Weber State University, Ogden, UT.
South Atlantic Modern Language Association Undergraduate Research Forum
- Ordinary deadline: July. The conference takes place in November.

Butler Journal of Undergraduate Research
- Publishes original, scholarly research by undergraduates across the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences from any accredited college or university.
Stanford Undergraduate Research Journal
- Publishes articles form all institutions and academic fields.
Reinvention: an International Journal of Undergraduate Research
- United Kingdom and Australia-based journal which publishes undergraduate work from all disciplines and universities. Welcomes academic articles from all student researchers from any discipline and university.
Criterion: A Journal of Literary Criticism
Original, well-researched, and intellectually rigorous essays written from diverse critical perspectives and about texts from any time period or literary tradition.
Based out of the University of Pittsburgh, Forbes & Fifth, publishes research, creative writing, scholarly articles, and visual art.
A refereed undergraduate journal of criticism and research, accepting submissions in the field of English from undergraduates in this country and abroad. A faculty member's endorsement is required.
UC Berkeley Comparative Literature Undergraduate Journal
Humanities research journal for those working in, around, or critically engaging with literary topics in a comparative nature, broadly construed.
