Ross KnechtAssociate Professor, Director of Undergraduate Studies

Biography

Ross Knecht completed his Ph.D. in English at New York University and held a post-doctoral position at the University of Queensland before joining the faculty at Emory. His primary research focus is Shakespeare and his contemporaries, with additional interest in Marxist-feminism, philosophy and intellectual history, and the history of education. He is the author of the monograph The Grammar Rules of Affection: Passion and Pedagogy in Sidney, Shakespeare, and Jonson (Toronto: 2021), and his articles have appeared in such journals as ELH: English Literary History, Comparative Literature, and Shakespeare. He is currently at work on a second book on early modern literature and the economics of reproduction.
