Ruixue Zhang Post Doctoral Fellow

Biography

Ruixue Zhang is a Postdoctoral Fellow in Emory’s Writing Program. She earned her BA and MA in English at Peking University, China; and earned her PhD in English at the University of Arizona, with a dissertation titled “Fleshliness and Fluidity: Swinburne in an Age of Media Revolution.” Dr. Zhang’s research interests include British literature of the long nineteenth century, comparative poetics, aestheticism and decadence, media studies, and critical theory. She is currently working on an article exploring the relationship between poetic creation and media development in the late nineteenth-century Britain.

Dr. Zhang primarily teaches undergraduate courses through Emory’s First-Year Writing Program. Her courses mainly focus on the intersections between aesthetics and ethics in works across media and genres.
