Emily Banks Visiting Assistant Professor of English and Creative Writing

Biography

Emily Banks is a Visiting Assistant Professor of English and Creative Writing. She received her Ph.D. from Emory in 2021. Her research focuses on gender and sexuality in American women's gothic literature. Her scholarship can be found in Arizona QuarterlyMississippi QuarterlyWomen’s Studies, and the edited volumes Shirley Jackson and Domesticity: Beyond the Haunted House (Bloomsbury) and Shirley Jackson: A Companion (Peter Lang). She holds an MFA from the University of Maryland and her first book of poems, Mother Water, was published by Lynx House Press in 2020.
